  1. Hello everybody, This tsuba is 8.1cm X 7.8cm (0.25cm at the edge, 0.4cm at the center). The real colour of the iron is difficult to capture on the photographs. I would say it is grey/brown. I have seen several of this kind on the Internet. Most seem to be 19th century late revival. What do you think of this one ? Regards. Bernard D
  2. Vielen Dank, Stefan ! To John : there is a kashira paired wih it (Hotei), but I don't think that it is the original one, because it is too different (sorry for the bad photo !). Regards. Bernard D
  3. Fukurukuju and Jurojin. I like it ! The real colour of the shibuichi is much finer than on the pics. Can anyone identify the artist who made it ? Thank you. Bernard D
  4. Thank you Mauro ! Bernard D
  5. Hi everybody, This little mumei tsuba (60cm X 55cm) looks nice, with the contrast of the yellow brass (much more visible in reality than on the photos) on the deep black, shiny iron. Any comment on it (school, age,...)? Regards. Bernard D
  6. Here are the pics. The measurements are 4.9cm X 4cm. Bernard D
  7. Dear Geraint and John, Many thanks for these informations. Regards. Bernard D
  8. Here are some photos of a small tsuba with Funada Ikkin signature. http://imageshack.us/a/img819/4554/aeg8.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img854/5877/wshz.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img844/2306/2lxw.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img34/1196/t8t0.JPG Regards. Bernard D
  9. Hello, Jean and John. You were very informative Thank you very much ! Bernard D
  10. Hello everybody, This is my second post today. Thank you for the warm welcome I already received. As I mentioned it, I am a novice in Japanese art. I think that this tsuba is from the Soten school. Do you agree ? Anyone able to decipher the inscription (mei ?) on it ? Strange that it is not engraved... http://imageshack.us/a/img716/711/5dyw.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img89/6685/b2bu.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img17/3511/ylwt.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img405/3038/guju.jpg Regards. 11. Hello everybody, This is my first post. I live in Switzerland and speak French. Please, forgive my English (I’ll do my best). I have inherited a small collection of Japanese sword fittings and would be pleased to receive informations on them (authenticity, school or maker, quality). I have very little knowledge about Japanese art and realise through the search I made on the Internet how vast and complex it is. As nothing can replace the connoisseur’s expertise, I shall be very grateful to forum members for any information/commentary/link to pertinent websites based on the photos I ‘ll post. Thank you in advance for your help. This tsuba (7.5 cm) looks like a chrysanthemum ; the back is concave and seems to be lacquered. That’s all I know about it. What is it ? http://imageshack.us/a/img34/2580/j9f4.JPG http://imageshack.us/a/img203/9077/s347.jpg Regards. Bernard D
