  1. http://www.ebay.com/itm/350871664666 The bottom tang hole seems out of place. Is that original?
  2. Can you elaborate? The sword smith has good reputation. Thank you. "On May 20, 1984, a Nagamitsu blade was awarded Shinteisho origami by the NTHK(4). Nagamitsu blades have also received Hozon origami from the NBTHK in Japan (3). This attests to the high regard that these blades are currently getting in Japan and the fact that they are judged to be true gendaito. "
  3. Is this made by Ichihara Nagamitsu mentioned in here? http://home.earthlink.net/~steinrl/naga.htm http://www.ebay.com/itm/321203404705
  4. Is the price reasonable? The signature looks different from other sources. Gimei? http://www.ebay.com/itm/370888154438 Bob Y.
  5. So the answer to my first questions is length ONLY. Anything longer than 2 shaku is called katana or tachi. If something has no signature, how do you tell it is katana or tachi?
  6. 1. What make a blade to be tachi, katana or wakizashi? Is it just the length? I see some blades described as long wakizashi or short katana. Do the length of the two overlap? 2. I know wakizashi is less expensive than a katana in general. How about tachi? Is it more expensive than katana in general? Thanks Bob Y.
  7. Thank you for all the input. Does anyone have one for sale that is good value for the beginner? I can meet at the coming Baltimore sword show in person. PM me please. Thanks. Bob
  8. Looking for my first sword. What do you think about this? http://www.ebay.com/itm/121172534389 BTW what is Konie?
