  1. I wonder if this Saya is a genuine / antique Kyu Gunto Saya. The owne says it is silver plated but it looks rather shiny to me like chrome plated? Since this is not my cup of tea I wonder what others do think about it?
  2. I reduce the ... ... Shibuichi Priest to USD 280.00 ... Tachi Kozuka (maybe Waki Goto Work) to USD 265.00
  3. You might consider getting Tanobe Sayagaki, 2nd best to submitt for TBH, 3rd best send to NTHK-NPO. All the best for the sale of a nice sword.
  4. First of all please let me say that I do like this Wakizashi very much. I think it is very nice Bizen work. I was sending the seller a PM when he had posted it on FB some months ago, making positive remakrs about it. Unfortunately the NBTHK papers is in MY OPPINION annoying since it is too vague not staing a specific smith nor periode - as in most cases. If it gave more details, pricing would be much easier. Of course if we had a TBH paper it would help in terms that we can most likely expect to look at a Nambokucho periode piece since Mumei past Nambokucho usually does not achieve TBH papers. It is however impossible to tell wheter the blade had been submitted to TBH and failed or wheter it did just not get submitted. The price is up between the seller and a potential buyer. This is for sure a nice blade and it is unfortunate the papers shed little light on a more specific attribution.

  10. A sword smith by the name of Pavel Bolf has been brought to my attention. He offers cutting of Bohi. Does anybody have personal expirience with him or has seen his work in person? Also does anybody know the approximate cost for cutting Bohi on a Daito in Japan?
  11. Oh, that is a bummer. Thank you Ray for letting me know. I was hoping there would be a recommended craftman in the USA or Europe.
  12. Not a that old sword. Blade would benefit from it. I am familiar with excellen craftman out of Japan for all kind of work but none for Bohi cutting. I do not want to send the blade to Japan.
