Thank you all of you. I'll have to be more humble and accept to admit not to ne able to understand everything. Espacially from a so exquisite Japanese culture.

Thank you Sébastien! A better picture is added... Probably there is a Show in the US, Australia or somewhere else as the NMB forum looks very asleep for the time being.

Hi, can you please tell me the theme of this akasaka school tsuba? I can see either butterfly or dragonfly. What are your views?

I have this tsuba for years in my collection and never succeeded to determine precisely what school performed this excellent work in carving. I was hesitating between Shonaï and Hamano schools. What are your views, please? Thank you

Thank you so much Arnaud! King of East ! If someone has some information on a tale related to this King, please tell me who he is! Anyway, might be : Jikokuten (持國天), or Dhṛtarāṣṭra in Sanskrit, is a guardian deity with fierce expression that protects the east of Buddha's realm. He is associated with the color white. In China, he is regarded as being harmonious and compassionate, using his pipa to play music in order to convert others to Buddhism. In Japan, his statues mostly carry a sword. He is also the leader of the Gandharvas, the celestial musicians and messengers. His name means "he who upholds the realm/nation."
