Dear Curran and Steven, Thank you for your interest in my kozuka. @Curran: It is a mumei kozuka (please see my other pictures) and I have no idea at all about a school @Steven: Another proof that this board is really fantastic. Thank you for bringing history to this kozuka as I didn't know its back-round. By anat chance would you have te possibility to scan the page of the catalogue where this kozuka is listed? Both Tsuba are genuine which is a good start. Both are pretty worn and the first one probably over cleaned.But not junk for sure.

I personnaly like these tsuba with poems or dedicated incantation. Very nice piece as Brian mentioned. If someone can give a translation , it would bring a part of the clues.

Hi, considering the design, the mimi shape, I would consider this tsuba being from AKASAKA school. But is it not as fine as Tadamasa one's for example. Can some one give his views on this tsuba ? Thank you Bruno

This tsuba is signed with a gold nunome zogan seal. I gess first kanji is Yama. But can someone decipher the second kanji ? Thank you.

Signature of this tsuba is Yanagawa Naomitsu + kakihan. But what about the 3 kanji on the flag ? I guess the design of the Tsuba is Shoki on a flag but what is the meaning ? I have not found Oni on the Tsuba Thank you for your help

I hope this picture will be of better quality for identifying the last kanji. Any way, I tend to consider this tsuba more a Daimyo representation rather than shoki or any Sumo. Thank you anyway for your interest

Thank you Ford, I am obviously a little bit disappointed as i thought it could be a well preserved end of Edo Tsuba. To better understand what makes the difference between such a modern works and a "real edo" tsuban can you give me some details which make the difference ? I am always keen to learn more from my mistakes. Thank you again
