  1. Here it is Krystian
  2. I personally offered me my Xmas present (I followed the advice: If you want it done right your better do it yourself) Now we come to a school attribution. Personally I tend to consider this tsuba with a Goto school origin but.... would it be Omori, Yoshioka or Yanagawa? Thank you for your views.
  3. Steve, I was desperate , knowing the difficulty to translate such kanji, the way they are sculpted. (I even , sometimes, does not succeed in re-reading what I had written the previous day!) A GREAT THANK YOU TO YOU! Haynes mentions Hirosada (弘貞) from Mito school signing 秀現斎 (Shūgensai). - H 01386.0. Regarding some exemples in Hawkshaw (Page 182) I think it might match and this artisit was discussed in this thread some years ago :

This symbol is named "Dharmarchakra" ==>https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dharmachakra
  5. Here it is , Kozuka is in my hands. I guess the poem or text might be a kind of "Tale of Genji" story or something similar. Any help on this will be more than welcome. Thank you Bruno
  6. Adding the thread mentioned here above:
  7. Ninja Samourai Katana 🤣🤣🤣
  8. I fully agree with Thomas. These paperknives where made for tourists, even though, I find my two exemples as very cute.
  9. Yes Nara probably. Anyway I purchased mine as being from the Nara school.....
  10. For your information, a similar tsuba with same technic is displayed in G.Murtha's book on Heianjo tsuba (page 84)
  11. Hi Thomas, the kozuka is on its way to Europe from the US. One's arrived at home, I'll post more precise pictures. Thank you for your interest.
  12. Hi, I know that I am demanding a lot in this case... A least who has signed the kozuka and what is globally the story/poem on this kozuka? Thank oyu Bruno
  13. I have a naïve question: Once a blade has suffered the acid polish, is it possible for a professional recognized polisher to make it properly polished again with sharp (not rounded) shinogi for instance ? Thanks
  14. Found a similar one in the web.....
  15. Thank you Piers . Once again I have learned something new... I did not know those Bizen Sake Tokkuri. Always impressed by the NMB members skills to provide an help.
  16. Thank you Steve ! The local Coca Cola then 🤣
  17. Jean Pierre , come on ! . I don't know you, but At 15 years old I wasn't able to do so (1896)
  18. Thank you John and Ford for your comments. @Ford: I obviously watched your film on Soten School (Shop ?) and the reason why they were so popular at that time. It's always a pleasure when you make us more "cleaver". I totally appreciate the fact that my tsuba has been made in the style of... but without intending to forge the Soten reputation and not coping a false mei. I will make more research as I have no ideas on the school or workshop which did such tsuba. Thank you again Bruno
  19. Hi, This newly acquired shakudo tsuba brings 2 questions to me : 1 - the vas majority of the Soten tsuba has been signed (generally : Goshu Hikone ju Soheishi / Mogorashi Nyudo Soten Sei) . When a Soten tsuba is mumei like mine, does it mean that it has not been recognized as legitimate by the school ? 2- The design of the Tsuba is 5 of the 8 sennin/immortals . Does it means that this tsuba is part of a Daisho with the Dai showing 5 sennins and the Sho , the 3 last remaining ? Thank you Bruno
  20. My Umetada school "Cho" tsuba signed Yamashiro Ju Shigeyoshi.(山城住重吉) It represents the Ikeda Family Mon (Mukai Cho Ka-mon)
  21. I did not want to open a new thread and preferred to "refresh" this old one to show my new purchase of a kozuka signed ichimudo Terutatsu 一夢堂英辰 Just to mention that Terukatsu was the adopted son of Terutatsu and both where students of Terumasa. I am quite surprised by the change of style where this kozuka does not show the usual Omori deep carvings but just a light shishiabori.
  22. Please , excuse my insistence but for the time being, I only have 3 opinions: - Umetada: 1 (Curran) -Kaga: 2 (Geraint and I) Some other views?
  23. Thank you Curran to have shown such a marvelous tsuba. Thank you also to mention this very specific school "Kozenji" that I didn't know before this thread.
