Honestly, i would have been interested by several of them but I am now reluctant to purchase items outside the European Union. Customs are really very painfull and costly these days.

Impossible to compete with Dale and his capacity to find any kind of tsuba but..... when we come to "Cheval" (Horse in French) we can find more exemples: https://www.espace4.com/collections/tsuba-en-fer-kawarigata-cheval-paissant/ https://www.lot-art.com/auction-lots/Trois-tsuba-Le-fer-Periode-Edo-18e19e-siecle-Tous-de-forme-irreguliere-a-En-silhouette/723-troi_tsuba-25.6.21-lempertz

Thank you Steve. I looked at Kinko Meikan and Haynes but not tsubako are listed under Shomin or Seimin with my kozuka mei. Another mistery (one more)! By the way you deserve the other side of the kozuka!

For sure it is a late 19th Kozuka pURchased has being signed by Seimin (Unno Shomin School) but I have my doubts. Your views please!

Like Jeremy! I wouldn´t have said it better!

Hi Damon , unfortunatly I bought this tsuba 30 years ago at a french auction without any description other than: "overlapping circles"

This is not tosogu nor nihonto mei translation but a silk painting one. Can some one decypher this signature, please ? It is a poor value painting from the 50' in term of $ but a very high value piece of art from my personal perspective.

Hi Colin these are very common tsuba you can find easily on the web. They have been mass produced during the meiji area.

Hi, You can google "tsuneshige 常重 tsuba" and compare. This tsuba looks fine to me!
-
Hi Jimi, A great experience and a great thank you for the 2 tsuba arrived home today. "Perfect in all ways" never had better definition (communication, packaging and beauty of the tsuba).

Hi Jeremy, my menuki are mumei and I have no information on a school or any tsubako. Nevertheless I can't resist in sharing a tsuba of mine on the same topic!

I would consider these animals not being otters but more probably weasels know as being very fine predators. My weasels eating a bird.... herewith (purchased to an estimated membre on this site)

Jean, These empty boxes are not really more valuable without the related tosogu. I had by the past two empty boxes with generic description as heianjo marugata tsuba or mumei saotome marugata tsuba and it was easy to find such pieces to have them matched with the boxes. First of all you have to get a translation of these hakogaki.
