  1. Botan Shishi Fuchikashira Omori Eishu/Teruhide kao The text is background information about Eishu from my brief squizz
  2. Yes I think it's a togishi's inscription 研上 sharpened 還 (not sure about this one) 之謹 - maybe means something like 'returned with care'? Other side is a date Showa 17, August
  3. Yes it looks like they were submitted and passed together You can also see both listed together on the Juyo Zufu page
  4. Bushu Shitahara ju Yasukuni ~Mid Edo, late 17th century I think
  5. I think the blue is 祖翁 (ancestor type of meaning) And maybe 二十三代 (23rd generation) instead of 重代, but I might be wrong
  6. Looks like Kanbun shinto
  7. Hello I'm a little confused - have you attached photos of a different blade? The certificates are for a Bakumatsu era( Keio 2) blade by Bakufushi Kawai Hisayuki, made at age 82 jointly with his son/heir (different on each certificate 久数 Hisakazu in nbthk, and 久正 Hisamasa on the Nthk cert) Also I don't see any bonji horimono on your photos even though it's in the description...

    Kaga koshirae

Looks amazing Pardon my ignorance (don't know much about kodogu) but what are the indicators of a Kaga koshirae? Is it the style of the metal fittings or are there other characteristics that make it so?
  9. The 'sada' is cut in a fairly typical way for 貞 Have a look at several signatures with that character in it like the example on the yari given above
  10. 貞重 Sadashige Your reading of the date is correct. However the Tenwa being at the end rather than the start, and the way the mei is cut seems a bit suspect imho
  11. Looks like a good blade from the photos Re: Juyo, good length and if the pics are representative of the rest of the blade, worthwhile submitting at least but as stated above the bar seems quite high of late. Usually only one or two Shikkake pass each year (more likely if attributed to a smith like Norinaga)
  12. 兼隨 Kenzui, I think
  13. Thanks Geraint Never actually noticed the mounts until now - its over 2.5m in length!
  14. Does anyone know of this organisation that has come up with certification for this yari by Etchu Kami Masatoshi on Aoi? I've never come across this 'Hojin Bijitsu Token kantei club' before? https://www.aoijapan...ords-appraisal-club/
  15. Are there smiths/schools missing from this list, or are they just grouped under a bigger category? For example, I don't see schools such as Hosho, Ayanokoji, Shikkake. There also aren't any of the 'more rustic' smiths like Naminohira, Jitsua etc that will have a few Juyo floating around
  16. Bonji horimono are a common motif used through multiple eras, even currently There are a few individuals that are renowned for high quality horimono - such as Ikkanshi Tadatsuna or Munenaga among others
  17. Looks like Kunishige (國重)
  18. I think it's trying to be Myochin 明珍 , although the 'chin' seems to be missing a portion for some reason
  19. As others have said Kozori is generally an outlier attribution of lower tier koto Bizen. With your budget you've got a decent range to choose from - I would continue to have a look around imho!
  20. Seki ju Goto Kanehiro Presumably Showato?
  21. Hi Adam, Seems to be a relatively unknown Shinshinto smith The only example I could find after some googling for you - not sure if you've already seen it https://www.e-sword....katana/1510-1124.htm
  22. Almost - Tomohisa
  23. I believe this was the Mon of the Mito Tokugawa clan (Rekko aka Tokugawa Nariaki was the 9th head of the clan) also known as the 'clock mon' due it its appearance Another for reference https://www.samurai-...net/SHOP/V-1792.html
  24. Probably waiting for someone to offer an 'appropriate price' for it
