  1. Thanks Rohan for your advice. Thanks Jim, I have sent an e-mail to Tsuruta san, to get this problem sorted.
  2. Hi Everyone, I have tried and tried to register with AOI-ART online auctions, and I just keep getting rejected. What am I doing wrong? I have enabled cookies for this site and also for the auction site. I enter all the required fields and it just keeps coming up INPUT PROBLEM. I have wanted to bid on quite a few of their items. Quite frustrating. Can anyone help me please? Thankyou.

  5. On the contrary Jean C. Now that you have opened the way for me I will research and now learn as much as I can about this swordsmith/kanji etc. Why bumble along on my own when I can consult experts and avoid the dead ends? I now know exactly, without being ignorant to the facts. Thankyou very sincerely for your help.
  6. Ok thanks Jean C. Could you please tell me what the whole kanji means, by that, each of the 5 characters broken into their meaning? Its really hard to go through heaps of Japanese characters/ kanji and find a match. Almost impossible to an amateur.

  13. I have scoured the internet and also my war reference books but as yet I cannot find a reason or a pic or reference to a gunto being worn in this method. There must be a reason or an example. It cant be the only one.
  14. Thankyou everyone for your help. Sorry for the late response Piers, I sort of didnt know what I was looking at with the link you provided. The hanger on the sword must have been designed to be worn that way as the leather field cover cannot fit otherwise. But its the only gunto I have ever seen worn that way. Also thankyou Brian.Stephen and Morita.
  15. Hi, I recently bought this sword. I would like to know the swordsmith if possible, but also this sword rests on its spine when worn as opposed to my other WW2 gunto which is worn blade down. Cheers Chad.
  16. Hi, my grandfather brought 2 Japanese swords back from Bougainville Island after WW2, this is one of them. Can anyone tell me anything about it please. I have more detailed pics if needed.
