Chris & Joe, I thought the prices of $12k and the quoted $25k were very high too. Found another suriage by Yoshimichi for $6500 that was papered, but most of the signature cut off. Anyways, unless it was really cheap, and I'm talking under $1000, I can't do it so I thought I'd share and hope one of you guys was a smooth talker to get a fair price on it . All bought up right now, (I mainly do bayonets, knives & guns, but swords are definitely the most interesting and fun to study, in the process of doing some cleaning out to free up some cash) so I didn't even try. -Brandon

Haha, the more I look at it, the more I don't like it. Gut has said run like hell since the beginning but the handle, and Nakago at first, were throwing me off. I'm glad I have you guys here to prevent me from making mistakes when I get excited over something. Oh, and the parts of the blade I did see were very representative of the Chinese copies. This is the first I've seen on a Kai Gunto copy. Either I am wrong or just haven't paid attention to or seen too many fake Kai Guntos out there. -Brandon

Thank you, Mr. Bowen. Yes, it's a shame (I know better myself and wish I knew about it before he cleaned it). He said he was offered $4000 for it recently from a dealer and asked my opinion. I'm relatively new at swords so I thought I'd share with you guys. IMO, for what it's worth, is that $4k seems much more than I would expect this to go for given its condition. Like I said, I'm new so if I sound clueless, I am -Brandon
