  1. Can’t believe there’s no interest in early, long, Yasukuni shrine swords that were professionally restored at prices below some sellers would want for later, shorter examples that were either not restored at all or had amateur polishes.
  2. Have 2 early, 27” Yasunori in professional polish available for sale. $10,000 shipped and insured individually through NMB, or $18,000 shipped and insured if you buy the pair through NMB (US buyers, for international buyers I need to work with another sword dealer who has an export license so there’ll be additional costs). Payments via PayPal. Shipped via usps priority express. These are extremely nice examples of premium Yasukuni swords by 2 of the best at the forge. 1. https://www.ebay.com...r=artemis&media=COPY 2. https://www.ebay.com...r=artemis&media=COPY
  3. Sukehiro is the smith.
  4. Look at that activity, nice one!
  5. Congrats! From the Yasukuni blades I’ve seen, both Yasunori smiths made nicer and more interesting blades compared to the other Yasukuni smiths.
  6. Incredible offering, Ray!
  7. Wonder where they are/went.
  8. Thanks guys. Hopefully I can get more up soon. These are all long, early, by top smiths, and 2 are in full, fresh, pro polish. The other not in fresh polish is in mint as found, war-time condition.
  9. Here’s a few I’ve gotten around to listing. Let me know if you have any questions. I have a few more I’ll post when time permits. 1. Kajiyama Yasunori - https://www.ebay.com...r=artemis&media=COPY 2. Kotani Yasunori - https://www.ebay.com...r=artemis&media=COPY 3. Tomita Sukehiro - https://www.ebay.com...r=artemis&media=COPY
  10. I recently auctioned one with no # on the saya in decent shape, hammer price was a whopping $1800 or so. 🤦‍♂️

Congrats! Properly restore that bad boy and bring it back to life.
  12. 1. Maybe. If it fits well then definitely. Hard to mix and match blades and saya. 2. Don’t know, not something that’d interest me anyways. 3. Kanehide was a seki smith and many of the ones I’ve owned and seen throughout the years had small seki stamp in addition the to the star stamp. always liked the Kanehide blades I’ve seen, minus they were usually shorter. I’d still have one if the nagasa were >= 27”.
  13. You could submit it to shinsa at the April Chicago sword show as is. If it got a nice attribution and/or rating in Chicago you could consider restoring and submitting to NBTHK in Japan.
  14. You can buy high end gendaito in that range in full polish with papers. Japanese sites are best bet atm given the advantageous exchange rates. Just be careful as they’re flooded with gimei gendai.
  15. Possibly Rai Kunimitsu.
  16. I had one a year to two ago that was in Kyu-gunto mounts, kogarasu maru, and 27"+ nagasa. It had his imperial artisan signature too. I believe it was one of the swords in Slough's now that I think about it.
  17. Hoping stuff submitted in June is ready for October’s Juyo session (assuming the June items got TH). Seems like it’s not going to quite make it or be cutting it very close.
  18. That seller is a member here. He gets good stuff. Also has good stuff for cutting and martial arts. I’ve got rare naval mounts posted fs that are mint but the showato blade needs to be polished as another option to consider. 😄
  19. Nice one, Gary, well you seem to post a lot of nice ones! What kind of activity is in the hamon?
  20. Please excuse the poor photography.
  21. Sukehiro was a good smith. Definitely gendai. Part of the Kato group.
  22. Sanmei’s got one by Hiromasa for $5500! Although it is a little bit longer, but yes I’m flexible. Really trying to upgrade to longer stuff (27”+) in polish by top gendai guys. http://sanmei.com/contents/media/T192282_S6004_PUP_E.htm
  23. I’m in the Houston area, recently was in Dallas. I knew a few sword collectors in Dallas. Seemed a couple of guys on FB tried to get something going in Dallas a couple of years ago that went nowhere. I don’t really know anyone in Houston that collects. I know of 1 or 2 people but never met them.
  24. Nice one! I’ve had Yoshimune, Hiromasa, Hisatsugu, Imai & Kawano Sadashige out of that group, all great smiths. One of my favorite groups of wwii smiths! Well Kawano as technically Gassan, but still did nice work.
  25. Following up, sold the sword to a friend who called and said undoubtedly koto after seeing in hand. I think they had a window opened but I haven’t seen it.
