    Shinsa

I am not sure if I am navigating this site correctly but I have a question. Does anyone know when the next Shinsa will be held in the New York metropolitan area? I have a small collection of Tsuba's that I have had for decades and I am considering submitting them to the Shinsa to possibly getting papered. Thank you.,
  6. Thank you so much. Pastor B
  7. Could some one help me with the translation of this signature...thank you so much (in advance).

  10. Hello again, I have included a better picture of the Mei regarding Tsuba no. 1...see pics below...thanks again guys. Pastor B
  11. Hello Fellow Sword Enthusiast, Again I want to thank those that responded to my inquiry regarding the Tsuba that I put on the other day. I don’t want to over extend my favor but could you advise me of what you think of the attached Tsubas. All but one (this is the one I put on the other day as noted above) is attached to this board and inasmuch as I don’t own them as of yet, I cannot remove them (the other three) to look at the back. I kindly request identification and possible value for the lot. Again, I cannot thank you enough for your assistance. I am not as knowledgeable as most of you but do appreciate these Japanese art pieces and enjoy the collecting of same. Tsuba no.1 is 2.625 inches in diameter; Tsuba no. 2 is 3.125 inches in diameter and Tsuba no. 4 is 3 inches in diameter. Again thank you. Pastor B
  12. I am requesting help in identifying this Tsuba. I have an opportunity to purchase this item but I don’t read Japanese. I am concerned that it is not a reproduction. Also, any idea what the value would be? It measures approximately 3 inches in across and 3.125 inches up and down. The weight is approximately ¼ pound. The wide part of the nakago ana measures 5/16 inches across with the thinner area being 3/16 inches wide and 1.125 inch long; the widest part of the kogai bitsu measures 3/8 inches and the widest part of the kodzuka bitsu measures 3/8 inches; the thickness is approximately 3/8 inches. A magnet sticks to this Tsuba. It is signed on both sides. Thank you in advance for any assistance. Pastor B
  13. Thank you for the help!
  14. Thank you Brian.
  15. OK...I measured the distance in a straight line from the Mune-machi (back blade notch) to the tip of the kissaki (point) and it measures exactly 26.25 inches. Thank you.
