  1. Thanks guys ill check into it. Probably just a pipe dream, I let my curio laps years ago couldn't keep up with the ever-changing red tape.
  2. Would one be able to sell guns, thinking of selling my collection.
  3. Always good to see another Christensen join the fray. Clean shingunto good on Gpa for taking care of it to be passed down. The tsuka is made to come off and on for maintenance, so once you learn the proper procedure you'll have no worries about doing it again. Welcome aboard looking forward to seeing what you have.
  4. He quoted me then he added the text

    Kaneyoshi mei

I disagree I've had a Kaneyoshi from ww2 with a mei above the Ana. I put it older Shinshinto era The shot I sent to JSI https://www.Japanese...shigata/kaneyosh.jpg
  10. Those help a lot. I think you have a shinshinto blade. The crispness of the cut doesn't take it back any farther.
  11. Stole this from another post. A Pic like this would help. AND the blades measurements.
  12. What's missing is the photos of the blade nagasa kissaki. The first photo says a lot the angei of tsuka to saya is very telling. Agree it's a Frankie. Terrible light of the tsuka it washed any color of the patina on nakago, try natural window light. So full shot of blade no fittings, geometry of the tip. Oh and pic of hamachi please.
  13. That's what round things do They don't ship them standing up, they have them laying down in the floor, With other boxes you don't want to roll them back and forth do you
  14. When I did use a tube I'd tape a bump on it so it would’nt roll back n forth.
  15. Look no father. Bobby is our man in Tokyo. 100% trustworthy He has a website but I can't remember it. https://www.militaria.co.za/nmb/profile/1318-keichodo/ - @Keichodo drop him a DM
  16. Yeah Colin that's why I used to do it back in the day I dug around in the closet and found triangle tube from the post office so I'll be using that thank you guys for your input.
  17. Do you think this a viable way to ship a daito. I'd think with reinforcement 1x2. The tube extends to 40 inches which will be needed. TRANSON Poster Documents Storage Tube 24"-40" Extendable for Posters, Blueprints, Map and Scrolls Color Blue https://a.co/d/d1s0cUx
  18. And another jump to conclusions, before using the calling fake card one needs the rest of the story
  19. Yurie I can almost smell the tempura and see the lights as if I was there, thank you.
  20. I should have mentioned @nulldevice Chandler as well good for you sir.
  21. I had hoped to see pictures of you and your daughter Yurie san. 😉 Thank you for sharing.
  22. Fun thread and happy the hobby is alive and well. Great sword Yurie san. Also happy to see new members who are well versed in the Nihonto world. I was concerned the NMB was on its last leg, with new guys like Adam ( I am impressed with you knowledge, you must have been interested well before here) and other too. New blood is very important to keep the forum alive. It's given me want to drop in more often. Especially since Brian has brought back the old ways, going to go check Bobby's shindig Pics now. There will be donation to the board before years end. Maybe sooner.
  23. Donation sent. Keep the support of NMB alive!
