Sorry, Not a sword but picked up with one and wondering if anyone could help with the inner info panel, looks to be a date and manufacture panel. Please ignore if not appropriate Regards Phil

Because it appeals to me and the time and fashioning with all its faults tells a story that i appreciate.

Hello Gentlemen, Any thoughts on style/ era on this tanto? Hopefully the blade photos and (cutdown?) tang come though
-
Hi Gents , Just teased the handle off this slightly rusty tang on a WW2 Naval sword. Whats the thoughts on rust removal? there's some simple chalked on numbers on tang that'll disappear if i remove plus the signatures slightly obscured, thinking ill at least remove the rust off spine edges that's hindering blade removal and is still "live". Your thoughts would be appreciated

Hello Gents , after a bit of gentle tapping and light cursing have removed hilt off this WW2 naval sword, tang has a bit of rust but not sure whether to gently remove, there's light chalk numbers i don't want to interfere with or is it best to remove? Worst runs on the spine. Is it clear enough to read? also came with surrender tag . Your thoughts and any help appreciated. Hope photos are ok Regards Phil in Perth

No need to apologies , often make my purchases based on hrs someone must've put in to produce a piece and always walk away knowing i grabbed a bargain.
-
Yep , knew it was a bitsa but wouldve been at great buy for the price just for the fuchi kashira , tsuba plain iron , added more photos, sorry ones blurry, menuki do sound possibly hollow but roosters still handsome. cheers Phil
-
No, this was a cheap find and counted it a bargain just for the fittings for what it cost me , i could see it was a cut down with possibly a cutdown and reshaped kissaki but thought id throw it out there to see what others thought of the blade and possible era blade came from.
