  1. Sorry about that - new here. My name is Mike. These are my first purchases and I'm trying to figure out if I'm on the right track before I dive any deeper. I also haven't been able to find much on my own - just this link http://www.britishmuseum.org/research/search_the_collection_database/search_object_details.aspx?objectid=3277197&partid=1&searchText=kuniyoshi%2C+taiheiki&fromADBC=ad&toADBC=ad&numpages=10&orig=%2Fresearch%2Fsearch_the_collection_database.aspx&currentPage=2 ... so I was hoping some info from other's knowledge might pop up that would assist me with my research. Any thoughts on the link reference? Thanks.
  2. Sorry about that. Name is Mike. I really have a fascination with Japanese samurai swords. This was one of my first purchases, and i'm trying to make sure I'm on the right track. Also any info provided would really help me start researching these guys and learn some of the terminology. Thanks.
  3. Recently purchased this sword and I was hoping I could get some feedback on its authenticity. The mekugi is horn and the mekugi hole is surrounded by ivory. The habaki is wood. No signature. Any opinions on the blade and quality? All comments are greatly appreciated.
  4. I recently entered the hobby an acquired this sword. Being that I'm new, I'm trying to learn as much as possible, and I was hoping someone could provide some info on this purchase. The sword came with a Tatsuhiko Konno research paper. Do these add a lot of value? Are these ever forged? Any way to tell a legit one? The paper dates the sword to 1675 and the signature as Yamashiro no kami Hidetatsu. Does this look like a sword of that age and anyone know anything about this smith? Is it worth, as an antique only, to spend the money to repair/replace the mixmatched mountings? Any other comments or concerns are greatly appreciated. Thanks!
