  4. The latest change of the law was made in June 2024, which was a minor change about guns. There have been occasional changes since the law was issued in 1958, but basic points about blades have not changed. I believe that the shop staffs do not understand the actual Firearm and Sword Possession Control Law in Japan. Actually, the law does not specify such details. However, it is also true that the police regulations on blades are becoming stricter these days. So, I guess that the dojo’s new rules are based on recent police guidance.

  20. To be precise, the steel which was used to make Mikasato (三笠刀) was taken from the gun barrel destroyed in the Battle of Yellow Sea (1904 – one year before the Battle of Tsushima). Ref. Mikasa-tō (Gun material use of a battleship "Mikasa.")

  24. Thanks to your post, I found the following page. Lot 582 - A RARE HAMANO SCHOOL SHIBUICHI KOZUKA WITH A To be presice, the last character should be 齊 (or 斉).
