Hi Chris, Thanks for your time first off! I have four reference books, but no Hawley. Two of my books are for modern smiths; Showa era and I have the Connoisseur's of Japanese swords. Which Hawley should I get, I see a number of them. I Really appreciate the advice and time you are kicking my way. I will post my pics of the blade as soon as I get it, which should be next week.

Thanks for all of the responses. It was not that I was having a hard time finding a rack I was just uncertain as to the kind and quality I should look for. Brian, thanks for the tip no pun intended. The wife is good with a wall rack so I guess that's the direction I'll take. Thanks again. -

I currently have three swords and would now like to display them, can anyone give me advise on a good rack for displaying my swords. I see a 5 sword rack on ebay, cough cough. Japanese Cedar Wood SAMURAI KATANA Sword Kake Rack Stand yoroi kabuto Set #5 but I'm not certain if it's worth the $620.00. I don't mind paying for quality as I'm certain I have at least two more Nihontos in my near future. Any advise on where to purchase and type is greatly appreciated.

I like the fact that I am getting some history. The swords are art and have history, not to mention the beauty. Im new on the board and have 3 swords none of which are of the boards standards of high Q but I like my swords and you should like yours! I understand that I'm years away from getting it right; so hold on to your money in the meantime until learn!~

I am pretty new to the board and the act of collecting. I have 3 swords 2 WWII and one 15th century. My question is this; how should i store or keep them. I have seen posts regarding air tight wrap etc and apparently they need to get stored, or kept in other than in the Saya. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, i don't want rust!

This is what I'm concerned about. the small portion in the upper left corner and it may not be an actual crack but need professional advice!

I have a question while we are on fatal flaws; if the boshi has a crack that is not through to the other side is it still considered a fatal flaw.

Grey, thanks for the reply. That picture was distorted and thus making the sori look as it did. Attached is a accurate depiction of the sori.

Thanks Jean, I have one more inquiry if you don't mind. Would you say that this is authentic or too hard to tell form the pics. Some of the rust looks new what do you think.

Since you seem to have had the Nihonto stamp pic all along, and you seem to read Japanese, wouldn't it have been simpler to post your last post first and say "anyone seen this before?" (would've saved a bit of now wasted time). Geo. Actually I didn't have the picture and I don't read Japanese and I don't read minds either!

The stamp that Chris posted 日本刀 is the actual stamping. I'll have to add a picture of the stamp. This a hand forged KANEHISA razor?

Thanks guys, someone is claiming that this is a Nihonto 日本刀 stamp. I'm "new" so excuse my lack of knowledge.

Hi Mark thanks for the info. I'm certain I have a good sword and got it for a good price. I was just being sarcastic with 12 yr old Chris. I did some homework before hand and the pictures as Brian said; you can't really go by. Sure I'm learning but a fool and his money should have never gotten together in the first place. Would you mind posting some pics?
