    Masanaga

Hi All, I've been trolling through my reference books, but I cannot seem to find oshigata to compare with. What do others think of this signature of Masanaga? Regards, Stefan
  2. Brian, Sure, I think that is a good idea. Just give the credit to the JSSUS library. For the life of me I can't remember the name of the man in the photo, who was the one that created the fifty mock tsuka. Maybe someone out there in Nihonto world does??? Can you recreate the PDF into one easily? If not, let me know and I'll send you the big file. So, maybe now we should get some statistics on the quantity of different tsuka out there. From my experience about 80% are in the two most common styles. Cheers, Stefan
  3. Hi All, I used to have a website that listed 50 styles of Tsukamaki. My provider wasn't kind and the website disappeared about two years ago. Now I finally got around to getting my hands on the originals again (as they were in storage). This booklet came out of the JSSUS library and I was given permission to reproduce them. So, I've scanned them all again, and now have created a PDF file from it. (in two parts, as the file was bigger than the limit of 2Mb) Again, my apologies for some of the darker images. They are just as the scanner reproduced them, which is very close to what the originals look like anyway. So here and there there is some loss of detail. Nevertheless, I hope it might be useful to some people. TsukamakiStyles Part1.pdf TsukamakiStyles Part2.pdf Cheers, Stefan
