    Hi Lance, Now that I am home I can finish off for you. Kobuse means a type of forging in which soft stelel is covered with a hard layer. The stamp or Kokuin says Shingane iri-genuine core steel, and the stamp on the back is a registration mark. Regards, John

    Hi Ben, I have seen a couple with traditional blades over the years. This one I had found interesting the first time it was listed(was backup bidder and brought more than what it sold for last night). Did not bid because it was a couple week period before it reappeared for a second time at auction. My thoughts was it was returned, I hope the handle was not removed for you and you might get a nice surprise. Regards, John

    Hi, Late war Kai Gunto. Looks as if tsuba has been cleaned at one time of the black coating they had. Blade is late war stock typical of these types. Sometimes you do see the fittings of the these dull because they have had a hard life..... like this whole setup. Regards, John

    Hi, Your first sword is a WW2 Japanese NCO sword. You can find more information by searching. Your second looks like it was made by Yoshimitsu? Very faint and hard to read. Regards, John

    Hi All, Really Glad Hamfish brought up this item and seller. I have been watching this seller and the way the bids are placed . It seems the same buyers(always a high percentage of bids placed only with him) bid the items up and either some puts in a overbid that is to his liking or it is relisted a few weeks later. Seems very strange and I wonder who else has noticed this. You can look at quite a few listings right now and see the same pattern. Regards, John

    Hi All, I was hoping someone could help me finish up this translation. I think it read Shinano Kuni ? ? Kunimichi kore. The date I believe reads Meiji and then two so year would be 1870? Thank you for your help. Best Regards, John
