  1. thanks brian you answered the question for me ,my wifes chinese i'm not racist,just be wary on ebay,i'll give you an eg.ivé seen Japanese dealers selling chinese rubbish as Japanese period swords.i myself bought a kozuka off a Japanese dealer that was sold to me as 100 years old that was lucky to be 10 years old but it looked the part in the photo,just be wary thats all.

  6. hi all, i'm not sure if i'm in the right place if i'm not i'll move it,i bought a gunto tsuba it was covered in brasso? anyway when i cleaned off the gunk i found a little silver stamp kanji? iv'e never seen it before. any idea's? best regards micko

  12. g'day i have a collection of over 30 of mixed nihonto after 25 years of collecting, all lower to medium in grades i think in profit i have doubled my money. but to pick a sword from your collection to admire and enjoy that has been part of your posessions for 20's years give or take,this is the true profit for me.there are a lot better options if profit is the goal.

Too right John it's a bit different if the polish is grand a little easier to photograph,thanks for your opinion....i read an article about a Japanese officer boasting of his sword a kanenaga taking over one hundred heads without a chip too his blade during the the china offensivea bit morbid but history none the less......thanks agaian regards micko

Hi Brian the nakago seems fine teh flas lights it up a little the signiture has been rubbed a little but the back is old black no fileing..this is my problem the sheer number of KANENAGA signed smiths and everyone has an opinion which is what i grasp.koto?maybe but i feel more shinto the nakago comes right down to just under half an inch ,maybe be a something that this particular smith did that someone is aware of or may have seen before.. best regards Micko

    gday. first i'd like to introduce myself my names michael lind known as micko,i've just signed up today although i have been watching since it started i was a member or riches board for a number of years,i'm i suppose one of the silent majority............... anyway i would like an opinion on a sword ,i think it reads kanemasa saku , signiture is normal ww2 chisel ,gnome temper , the tangs filed it's an unusual 271/2 inches,but what troubles me is the hole is huge and punched not drilled can i get an opinion on it please. regards micko
