  1. Antique Tsuba and Kodogu Book...ID needed...I recently saw this intriguing book with what appears to me to be a series of pasted in images or designs for tsuba and fittings...Not having seen one before I hope more advanced collectors here will know what this is. The examples are quite varied and of fine quality. Thanks for looking. Ed
  2. Chris, That's what I have, but I wanted to be sure. Thanks. Ed

  9. Chris, Being one of those people I tried to translate it and got the date fine, but the rest did not make sense...I'm not a language expert and this one baffled me...I'm dyslexic in at least six languages, so the challenge was a bit less than straight forward, at least for me...What can I say, I'm not an educated man. I do appreciate the help from all the replys with this translation and I wanted to be accurate for the owner's sake...I had hoped it was an attribution, but it seems pretty interesting as it is. Ed
  10. Koto Tanto Sayagaki Translation needed for an associate...All help is appreciated...Old Tanto is mumei now due to heavy corrosion to its nakago and slightly tired, but of very good quality. Thanks, Ed

  12. Thanks for the date confirmation...It's also quite heavy for the period and the tehen is certainly unusual even for Japanese armor...I suppose it's just decorative, but it may represent something I am unfamiliar with. Ed
  13. Thanks for the comment, I am dusting off some swords and armor I've owned many years to catalog them properly, so it's a chance to display some pieces. Ed
  14. Saotome Iyetada Kabuto...A fine helmet I've owned for over 25 years now and I just now took photos...I forgot the entire mei, but it may be dated. Ed
  15. Thanks for the help. So there is no confusion I'm giving the translation to the current owner.. .The sword is not a gendai and I am sure it wouldn't be allowed back in Japan. Ed
