  1. Thanks mate Joe
  2. Thanks Cabowen. One more question: 兼光 (Kanemitsu)後藤 松蔵 from 関鍛治刀匠 and also 中作 (CHU SAKU)= 上工の列 (Joko no Retsu) = 後藤 兼光 Are they a same person? Cheers Joe
  3. Thanks Gens. So only the smiths in 聖代刀匠位列 made the swords by the traditional Way? Cheers Joe
  4. thanks John, Is there any answers for 聖代刀匠位列 and 関鍛治刀匠? Cheers Joe
  5. Hi Gens: I got a question here, about the 聖代刀匠位列 and 関鍛治刀匠 I can find out some of 関鍛治刀匠 are also in 聖代刀匠位列 but not all of them, why? For example: 兼光 (Kanemitsu)後藤 松蔵 from 関鍛治刀匠 and also 中作 (CHU SAKU)= 上工の列 (Joko no Retsu) = 後藤 兼光( I hope they are a same person) But 広利 (Hirotoshi)小森 広利 is only appear in 関鍛治刀匠 list. So dose it means that some of swordsmiths are not good enough to be listed in 聖代刀匠位列? One more, what does 業物位列 means? Cheers Joe
  6. for the bayonet That's the Japanese Type 30 Bayonet, and it looks like the 2nd type which has been made by the early or middle of the WWII. Joe
  7. Good copying, looks like a really old blade.
  8. Hi gens, I just wanna show my effort, it's nothing but I still follow the Japanese way to polish. May be I am not NihonJin, so that's not Nihonto. If you don't like it please delete the topic for me. Thanks!!
  9. it looks nice isn't it? It took me 2 weeks to finish. Unfortunatly, I didn't take any pics before the polishing, it's much worse. I got another Nihonto, maybe I should start on the Nihonto..
  10. Thanks, Keith, we all knew that, but what my point is, I made the " Hamon" .
  11. Hi Gens: That's a Swedish vintage bayonet, but I used Japanese traditional way polished. Check out the pics. it's not tampered steel, so the Hamon not so obvious.
  12. Thanks Stephen, it seems to be a good reference for what I am interested.
