Here are finally two pics showing the crack or i don't know what it's name. Pics kinda dramatize the problem because what looks in real like a hairline, looks like the colorado canyon on the picture...

Light suck big time i know. That's the best i can do tonight. To my novices eyes, kissaki don't look broken and redone, maybe polished a bit too much and that smoothed the kissaki line a bit to much. Please tell me your opinions.

I checked the kissaki this morning, and Jacques might be right, I'll take pics tonight to show you. And I'll shoot close up pic on the little "crack" that i tried to show before. It's on the surface, and only one side.

I try again to post the pics directly.... hope it'll work. Edit. Doesn't work.Pics must be too big. Will lower them later. Any idea about what's written on other side of the shirasaya ? Faint, but should be readable. thx -

Thank you very much Morita. Do you know if he's listed in Hawley's swordsmiths? Many Sadatoshi there. Regards, Arnaud

Thank you Mark. I'll check my books and the web to see if I can find signatures of thoses two names to compare with my sword and try to match it.

Hello gentlemen. I have this nice Kai-gunto that has been translated as Usui Sadatoshi. Could someone confirm the name, or read the good name ? I haven't found much on him, even I have most of the books. Thanks for help. Arnaud

Kanemichi gunto with cloth tag
sturmbichon replied to sturmbichon's topic in Military Swords of Japan
According to the books I have it's a Seki stamp, I'll shoot close up pic tonight. And the blade looks really great quality compared to the 3 others guntos I own. It's a very long and heavy blade. Anything special I could picture to show you? Thanks, Arnaud
