  1. and please - do not show me the Kanbun Kyo now! as those are- 1.- other tradition 2.- other forge 3.- other iron. otherwise Kyo. and this is definitely not here.
  2. John did you ever see a so called "Ko-Shoami" Tsuba in kind of "square" Geometry ??? i do heartly confess you! NO! i did never see such! this is a typical Awa-Shoami my friend! late Edo! but very late! why? cause there are religious differences...( occuring already lomg before those traditions did find prosperity....but essential to know!) see: The Catalpa Bow: A Study of Shamanistic Practices in Japan: A Study in Shamanistic Practices in Japan (Japan Library Classics) by Blacker Carmen.
  3. there are least 3 points on this "Oyabun"-Tsubashi´s post....which do calm me! Nice Tsuba Pete! Laugh! ( always a warm in ones´s old heart- ( my own one!) so to see a real one...finally)

  6. oh it is even older! ( i´m getting old it seems...) Christian
  7. none is Owari.- Sorry! # 1 is harsh looking for any Geometry and Surface flavour- todays called "Flesh" - ( i do prefer Angus!) # 2 is a typical latter Akasaka-stylism copy from a Shoami with a slighther bigger rim then first expected by this school...( so to least fullfill the symmetry of the inner walls most probably wanted...???) non,- is authentic! ( Owari Tsuba are always! present! ) this, again, is a kind of this hundreds and hundreds of so called "serial stuff " ones again... Ebay ! ( i just do really wonder me where they take this from ???? some years ago...i do remember....there were none.... ) better: do see Sasano San´s excellent ( even if near 50 years old ) book "Sukashi Tsuba" ! do buy you this book! please.... do read and learn. Christian
  8. This is a charming one indeed! i am sorry, i never had any focus onto Kinko.... eitherway nice and authentic. Up for the Kinkoist´s Front i would say... ! ( with a good luck wish for you from mine part!) my initial guess is early to mid Nara.... Christian
  9. i do agree with Tosa- as i honestly do not see- 1.-Akasaka iron to those times 2.-nor Hayashi/ Nishigaki Iron ( Owari import ) those explicit times, we are speaking about- Dito. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tosa iron...would be my personal Kantei. ( of course!- my comment without seeing it in live! - is grounded solely on those photos only!) Christian
  10. using acids wont fruit successfully enough to create a so called "Bone".... you had to use a Base! especially on low tempered higher carbon iron. in sum but, i do fully agree with you. Christian
  11. Thank you Richard! i do see and fully do agree with you! ( sorry for my delay dito....winter is comming and i have to take advantage of the last remaining days till it gets frozen ....then i have to stopp forcefully due climate conditions.....more time for me to look for- /- onto Tsuba in winter then... ...) Christian
  12. a bit MUCH of a nonsense discussion here ? about vaverage 200-300 Dollars ??? and where is a Tsuba????? ???????? Sorry! me
  13. you won´t " Trump" me now...? i just expect ? The KTK Catalogues are easily essential as they are. Who further would ask? This Tsuba is a clear falsation and a pure Fake! done... Christian
  14. do show me that Iai -Tsuba Rich something of this usual garbage tricky ones, commonly in stock, done for fake the mess ??? Laugh! .... !
  15. it is not a forge! It is simply to be called a cut-out! done somewhere in past. worthless in all the whole aspects of collecting originals! you should take a notice onto the execution of the hitsu! ( if you really do want to learn something about Tosogu! ) very simple!
  16. it does very certainly not look like a Rai Kunitoshi here.... maybe some good old pictures shall help ? there are hundreds on Rai and Rai Kunitoshi existing in international and especially on Japanese sites! a real Rai Kunitoshi is somehow equivalent to the big M... so far.... Google! me

( autres a évaluer...) Christian
  19. and here again- my old Marine..... i was right! again..... no, no need for red ink!......just a strong need for those novices -understanding literature written a long time ago already! maybe some glasses if needed ? LOL! me
  20. the answer is much more simple then you ( eventually may ? ) expect. maybe a question of picture ?- i but hard doupt! the Yasurime are not cut professional the Nakago shape is not executet professional the Nakago-ana is " humble"...so far... the individual Kanji look like stamped, and not individually ciseled/ cut out....so far.... maybe better pictures would releave more ? let us see.... i but hard doupt! ( and we still have not seen the Kissaki, Boshi ect.ect...) Christian
