I didn't get much response here so i am just going to buy myself 1 or 2 copies. The shipping is $8 fir the first book and seems to be about $4 each after that until 15 or so when it was 3ish.

You would think that Ford may have a solvent technique that works? I found a very nice set that seemed nice enough to be signed (thick shakudo so no chance of tearing) but being filled with pitch I have no way to look. They are too nice for me to try and experiment with.

well I am thinking about ordering several off of amazon. Don't know if its worth it to resale it here for the normal price plus the domestic shipping. I figure if I get 10 and split that shipping amongst all ten then it might be cheaper but might end up being the same to all you guys.

I did the price quote for shipping and said thats not too bad so I'll order 2. Then the shipping went up to $100.... so I went back to one book and the shipping was still $50. So I did not order.

If those are the menuki on ebay recently, the same seller had gold catfish menuki (edoantiques). I found the catfish and they are modern reproductions of gold over silver cast.
