  1. I tried to lure him into answering, but without success...
  2. I 'd take Chris' word without doubt...
  3. Seems an interesting blade. I 'd like to see a pic of the whole sword as well...
  4. Don't wanna sound sacrilegious, but there are some US smiths that can make an exquisite work -traditionally or not- with much to enjoy. Maybe not "nihon" to, but still an art sword on its own merit, especially for a martial artist.
  5. Buying without inspecting the blade personaly hides always a danger. Acceptable for thr money involved though, but don't do it with an expensive blade ...
  6. I think he wanted to expose the scammer and not really buy it ... Ups Lee got to it first...
  7. Sounds nice! Please remember also to sign your post with a real name as per forum rules.
  8. how about surgeon's gloves? They are both thin and waterproof.
  9. Yes, they did. In fact there are many (if not all) mounters that make aikuchi koshirae and there were iaito for practice as well.
  10. You are right Kevin (I forgot you live in Derbyshire). A londoner might combine it with an excursion though...
  11. Is crossing over (or should I write under?) the channel to France and shipping from there any more efficient? I imagine the art courrier will be a lot more expensive.
  12. BTW how do you send swords in the UK then?
  13. I am in for a patron copy as well.
  14. I believe it has something to do with mr Tenold's sarcastic remark at the title of this topic. :D It is a very nice initiative and I am curious how will it go.

    "Sweating" menuki

I might even skip the Ren Wax
  18. It might sound dump but anyway... are there units that can handle both tasks?
  19. BTW, as I am thinking of setting up a humidifier/dehumidifier system in a room (35m2), which model and configuration would you suggest?
  20. Thank you everybody for directing me without spoiling my fun. I have interpeted most the mei (actualy not me but http://nihontoclub.com/smiths/KUN292 ) as 皇都住吉原國家精鍛之 kōto ju yoshihara kuniie seitan kore plus two unknown kanji this means according to my translation (and guess) something like "at the imperial capital youshihara kuniie with precision forged this" the unknown kanji remind me of the kanji for showa 昭和 but I am not sure.
  21. Hello, can one of the more knowledgable members help me with the mei? many thanks
  22. It might be the insurance fee requested by the courrier that explodes the cost.
  23. Browsing at the site I am starting to get the hang of it. Many thanks for your help. I will post pics in case I win!
  24. Thanks Eric, and you bid through their site?
