  1. Just to ease my mind stream here's a more correct representation of the tang. Hope ya'll don't mind.
  2. Pardon my French. No disrespect intended. I'll just have to learn the hard way. Like maybe I'll get laughed out of a Dojo somewhere. Ever been in a situation where your totally freaking out about something else and something happens that requires more attention? Something like someone's pain happens to feel greater than yours no matter what your thinking. Hopefully this lesson won't be like that.
  3. Is it because you're all blowhards?
  4. "who" says: I dare say, we all disagree. I beg to differ. Thanks gentlemen. I will keep it to myself for now. Keep looking at pictures.
  5. I'm going to have to work on my photography skills but here's a few more pictures.
  6. I'll see if I can post better pictures.
  7. It was easier than I thought.
  8. Then to put this issue to rest, take off the handle and the habaki, and show some pics of the tang. If this happens to be an Emperor's dagger I'm not even thinking of what your saying. I don't have the expertise. Nor should it be shown this way. Does anyone disagree???
  9. ERazer says: I'm leaning towards something Toledo made. Turbo Storm says: The hamon looks acid etched. I say, dream on. Lu
  10. btw - I have different blades with different curves.
  11. Hi Brian, I'm more than a little reluctant to take it apart. But, okay. Need time to think it through (removing the handle). Thanks. Lu
  12. Does anyone know about this blade?
  13. Hi. I'm new here, and I've got a new blade here, wakizashi. Purple snake skin, flying dragon and all that, blade exactly like the Masamuni Hocho shown in the Japanese Tokugawa Museum. Does anybody want to see the pictures??? Keep talking... Scayalukey
  14. Nice. Thanks Nobody.
  15. I wonder what the poem says.
  16. only one spot for the wind to move.
  17. Im new here, but those whetstone marks don't look too real to me, if that's what they are?
  18. Oh, drbvac already said that. My handle on terminology not to good.
  19. looks like an officer's military sword.
  20. Anyway you could take pictures closer to the blade? My eyes don't work too well.
  21. Good news. Threes always better than one...
  22. Wow! I prefer long blades that form "perfect" wedges but wow! Aren't the striations straight up and down the length of the blade. Fine blade that one.
  23. My interest in Nihonto most recent. Bought 9 swords over ebay from China last spring/summer. 6 Chinese/3 Japanese. Only have two left. (Temple swords tachi and wakizashi) Plan on posting pictures around March 3rd. I turn 42 on March 2nd.
  24. Hi Everybody, My interest in Nihonto is very recent. I've always kept weapons away from me, out there somewhere. Also have interest in Shakuhachi as worn by Samurai's. I don't have much to say but want to learn quick. I do have a natural uncanny ability to recognize a good blade though. Is there room for off-topic discussions on blades from China or possibly knives from the Hindu Kush???
