  1. Hi both. Thank you very much for your help snd replies. I purchased the tduba from a Japanese collector about a year ago now. Many thanks Gethin
  2. Picked this tsuba a while back. Rather simple in shape but very good iron. It appears in the book owari to mikawa no tanko. It is signed Bishu Nagoya Kitani Shigehiro. I have not seen another work by this individual and can't find any information on him. I wonder if any of the more experienced members here have any information on him. Many thanks Gethin

Thank you all for your translations and opinions. It's much appreciated. Would pieces of armour such as this normally be gifted to clans? Many thanks Gethin
  4. An interesting addition. A piece of armour supposedly gifted to the Muto clan of chikuzen, that was passed down through the family. A better translation of the attributing paperwork would be welcome. I am unfamiliar with the family mon on the additional slip of paper though also.
  5. Hi all. I've been trying to read the mei and identify the maker of a tsube I recently purchased. It's quite worn down and my photography skills are questionable but I think I can read Kaneyama and a date of Anei?? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Gethin
  6. Hi Gents I recently picked up this little tsuba. The iron is excellent but it has a kanji symbol im not familiar with. Could anyone be able to tell me what it says? Looks rather large to be a mei. Thanks in advance. Gethin

My Name is Gethin and I'm from south wales in the UK. a number of the members from the UK should know me as I've been collecting mainly Tsuba for the last 20 years but also have a number of blades. Look forward to continuing to learn from the more experienced members. Thanks again Gethin
