Thank you david. The only smith I can find with this TOKI kanji is a gendai smith. The problem is that the mei style is quite different . Can anyone confirm this as kan-2534 or help point me elsewhere ? Thanks, PeterD

Sorry for the huge cropped pic. I only have a iPad with me and it ain't great at manipulating Pictures. Thanks, Peter D

Travis , all I get is a blank photobucket page. PeterD -
Thanks guys, I thank you for all the help. I did not get the piece so don't have pictures but I really appreciate your time. It looked like a nice blade , but was covered in dry rust and in need of a polish. My take was 15th-century, It had a simple Horimono and had seen many polishes. Maybe Better luck next time. Thanks so much , PeterD

Thank you Morita-san & Chris for your fast response. You are amazing. I would have never seen Goto as the first two kanji. I found a tsuba that looks of similar style, quality and materials. Dont know what to make of it. May I ask what you all think on this piece? The hare have beautiful and well cut fur but I cant get it in the pic. Please dont hold back if you think its gimei. Thanks for any insite you can give, PeterD Also I should probably move this to tosogu but dont know how. Help!

Hi All, don't want to burst anyone's bubble but is it not possible that a crafty person has a papered tsuba, copies it, then sells a copy of The original paper and copied tsuba? I don't want get too "conspiracy therory" but I see it all the time with rare coins. Just sayin, PeterD -
Hello all, I am curious why know one weighed in on the little sukashi tsuba? Are these common? I have not seen many like this, Has anyone else? PeterD

Hello all, I thought I should add a (not so great) pic of a wood kozuka . It has an ebony top with a rosewood case. Nicely carved but missing a small amount of silver wire inlay. I am not sure of age but guess it to be late edo. Cheers, PeterD

Dont see anything on the first 3, Bishu osa on the last pic. nakago has been shortened and the rest is lost.

Hi Chris, I know what you meen. mei looks wierd to me too. I dont have it in hand now but should be able to get a pic or 2 soon. The blade does have a nice itame hada and a narrow suguha/notare hamon. It is in a well made shirasaya. I dont think it is chinese but some of them are trying real hard these days. Pics to come & Thanks, PeterD

Hello All. Just when I think I am starting to get the hang of it--- The first kanji eludes me completely and I believe the second kanji is O or ni but am probably wrong. Can anyone help out with this? Does this look wrong to you as much as it does to me? It is on a nice and large Otanto. possibly shinto-shinshinto. Thanks for any help or observations! PeterD Sorry for the massive pic. I will scale it down next time
