Toryu2020 Posted June 21, 2011 Author Report Posted June 21, 2011 Thank you Gentlemen - Some folks have pointed out that on some systems the photos take a minute to load - if you visit the site and click on GALLERIES give it a little time and all the albums will come up. It is "Under Construction" as I am still adding some photos and ephemera collected over the years and still in the process of titling some of the photos so do check in for updates. Cheers all, -t Quote
myochin Posted June 22, 2011 Report Posted June 22, 2011 Many thanks Tom ! Can you remember where you took the pictures of the armour exhibition in November 2009. Seems like a very interesting exhibition, I like the Saiga armour. Paul. EDIT: found it: Lethal Beauty Quote
IanB Posted June 22, 2011 Report Posted June 22, 2011 Tom, Thank you for for your efforts - the images are much appreciated. Amazingly, two of the armours crossed my path years ago. It was a delight to see what they looked like in their original condition with their crests and accessories. Ian Bottomley Quote
Toryu2020 Posted June 24, 2011 Author Report Posted June 24, 2011 Paul - You are correct, this was at the Clark Center in Hanford California. Something like a 4 hour drive from here with 6 other guys from the NCJSC. The swords were just so-so and did not photograph well. The armour made the trip well worth the effort. A very small museum but very nicely set up. -t Quote

k morita Posted July 17, 2011 Report Posted July 17, 2011 Hi, Thank you for sharing about a lot of photographs. A photograph to which I especially paid attention is the following pic. http://www.toryu-mon.com/Toryu-Mon/Gall ... ae.html#59 This Tachi sword is "Bittyu Aoe Masatsune" (national treasure/ pre WWII, Important Cultural Properties/now ). This Tachi-sword became missing from shrine right after end of the WW2 and was discovered by Mr. J Umoto in the United States in 1972. And, it was restored to former owner(Kumano Hayatama shrine ). Thank you. Quote
