Daniel Posted November 30, 2013 Report Posted November 30, 2013 Hi all May I ask your assistance with a translation of this surrender tag, or at least the kanji still remaining on it. The tag is attached to a Gendaito in Kai-gunto mounts, see topic viewtopic.php?f=50&t=16997 if interested. Thanks in advance Best Regards Daniel Quote

Daniel Posted December 1, 2013 Author Report Posted December 1, 2013 The tag is burnt and broken so I understand it's not easy. Thanks for trying. Quote
george trotter Posted December 2, 2013 Report Posted December 2, 2013 Very hard...difficult writing and condition of tag...still, here goes: RH column: Iizukashi Shitahonmachi Jitaku = Iizuka city, Lower Honmachi, private address. Middle column: ? ta? (damage) LH column: his name? = Tada ? or a slogan? = Chu ? Sorry, that's about as much as I (think) I see...Iizuka city may be in Fukuoka? Maybe Morita san can correct me :D Regards, Quote
