Kanefusa 23rd generation Gendaito in Shirasaya

not sure but id guess what the mei says ,23rd gen Kanefusa, btw that is a very clean blade, see alot of his beat the heck up. good eye.

Any idea about what's written on other side of the shirasaya ? Faint, but should be readable.

If you crop your pictures, get rid of the floor, you should be able to post. Any digital camera software will allow easy cropping.

Sayagaki has the mei that is on the blade and the name and address of the owner.

 

Looks like the usual oil quenched Kanefusa. Probably not therefore a gendai-to. Hard to tell from the photos but that is how it looks....

Kanefusa made good Gendai and showato blades, Chris knows his stuff when it comes to his work.

i myself like the looks of it, with out stamp better pics may tell more.
