How common is it to see a fullered blade in Type 98 koshirae?

Where present, should a fuller terminate prior to the habaki, or run right under?

Depends on the smith/maker for where the bohi generally ends. Some end before, some just right after, some go a ways down the nakago.

And I have seen both old fullered blades and blades made during the war with them. I'd say they're aren't "common", but you see them here and there.

 

I have one that is chromed and light-weight, so probably made as a dress sword, factory made.
