Marius Posted January 29, 2018 Report Posted January 29, 2018 An excellent tsuba by Futagoyama Norisuke. A similar tsuba is published in the "Futagoyama Norisuke Ko" published by the NBTHK Nagoya branch, which after all these years still remains the bible of this excellent and versatile school. The iron is dark, almost black and naturally lustrous - a hallmark of Owari work. The motif is of waves, and it is repeated in the hitsua ana plugs. BTW, I presume it would cost more than the price I have put on this tsuba, to have the plugs made today by a good artisan. Measurements: 77.5 x 70.5 x 0.48 (rim) 3.8cm (seppa dai) Late Edo. I have bought this from one of the members here and using his (excelent) pictures. It is time for others to enjoy this excellent and beautiful guard. $465 incl. global shipping and fees. Bank transfer prefered, but PayPal is OK, too, if must be.
Bazza Posted January 29, 2018 Report Posted January 29, 2018 (Gritted teeth) CONGRATULATIONS!! That will teach me to be late in the piece. A wonderful tsuba, loved it at first sight. BaZZa.
