Peter Bleed Posted October 9, 2017 Report Posted October 9, 2017 Dear Friends, Today I wish to sell an Imperial Japanese Navy parade sword. I do not find this exact sword in Dawson’s book but it seems exactly like Fuller’s "1914 Commissioned Officer’s parade sabre." It presents Dawson’s Guard #3 cherry blossoms with a backstrap and folding guard. Scabbard fittings all have a single cherry blossom. The blade is chrome-plated with a “points up gonome” hamon. It is fitted with a habaki and measures 25.75” (65cm). It has some light scratches and has lost a small bit of plating on one side in front of the habaki. This is pictured but overall the sword is “very good.”. Saya is covered with lacquered same. There is some lacquer loss on both narrow edges of the scabbard but they are not highly apparent. It needs a good cleaning, but overall, it is a nice collectible rig. Price $350 but talk to me and I would happily consider trades for Sendai Shinto, Ainu objects, and European style Nanban tsuba. You pay the freight and we both tip the NMB. Peter Bleed
