Nickupero Posted March 8, 2016 Report Posted March 8, 2016 Hi Folks, here is another item I'd like to squeeze in for sale, stunning Edo period menpo/ kabuto set with Edo period Dragonfly Maedate. The lacquer work is absolutely stunning, composed of iron under the lacquer. The kabuto is 12 plate and the pictures do not do it justice, the shape is quite intense with each plate being very rounded. In my opinion it is a good set well above average. Offering it to members for $7,500 USD plus any fees or shipping. Donation will be honored.
Nickupero Posted March 12, 2016 Author Report Posted March 12, 2016 Lets make it a little more interesting, $6,950 US plus shipping. Just to be clear the Urushi is very rich and dark, the lighting takes away a lot of the patina and richness, everyone that has seen the set in person has had the same wow reaction.
Dom212 Posted July 7, 2016 Report Posted July 7, 2016 Hi Nickupero! Is this set still for sale? Thanks, Dom212
Nickupero Posted July 8, 2016 Author Report Posted July 8, 2016 Hi Dom, This one is currently pending sale, payment plan more accurately. I'll be pulling it from the board shortly. I do have another stunning Kabuto with fine metal dragonfly... also has kirikomi, strike marks around the forehead area if that is something of interest. Thanks, Nick
drbvac Posted July 8, 2016 Report Posted July 8, 2016 Wishes indeed = Love the look of your web-site update by the way - very nice and the pictures as usual are fantastic. Not many dealers, even AOI have those types of detail and clarity.

Thanks, Nick Hi Nick, Thanks for your follow up. In fact I'm really interested in the maedate dragonfly. Would you consider selling it by itself? Thanks, Dom
